Reducing the environmental burden of chemical production.

• We regard protection of the environment and prevention of pollution at source as an integral part of our activities.
• We regularly evaluate the environmental impacts of our production processes — including waste, wastewater, emissions and energy consumption — and set measurable targets to reduce them.
• We manage the segregation, storage and delivery of hazardous waste to licensed facilities in accordance with legal requirements.
• We use natural resources and energy efficiently, and apply a life cycle perspective in raw material selection and product development.
• We maintain the compliance of our products with REACH and the relevant chemicals legislation, and support our customers in meeting their own compliance obligations.

Working with chemicals means managing risk.

• We are committed to providing safe and healthy working conditions for our employees and for everyone present at our facilities.
• We aim first to eliminate hazards; where they cannot be eliminated, we reduce OH&S risks in accordance with the hierarchy of controls.
• We specifically assess chemical exposure, fire and spillage risks, and plan protective equipment, ventilation and emergency response on the basis of that assessment.
• We consult our employees and their representatives on OH&S matters and ensure their participation in decision-making.
• To prevent injury and ill health, we evaluate all reports — including near-misses — and take action to prevent recurrence.
