Steel Wire Drawing
Low friction and a stable soap film on dry drawing lines; surface quality at high drawing speeds.
A zinc phosphate conversion coating system that delivers consistent coating weight and excellent soap pickup in cold forming and wire/tube drawing. It extends die life and improves process stability.
KİMSOL zinc phosphate baths form a porous, crystalline conversion layer on the metal surface. This layer holds the drawing soap (Kimkal) and prevents metal-to-die contact during drawing and cold forming, reducing friction and wear.
Uniform, repeatable forming through controlled g/m².
Cuts metal-to-die contact and reduces die wear.
The porous structure keeps the drawing soap on the surface.

Cutting metal-to-die contact reduces wear and lowers the frequency of die changes.
A stable bath and the right coating weight mean less consumption per unit.
Batch-to-batch repeatable quality; uniform forming and low scrap.
Fewer stoppages and less rework; safe operation at high drawing speeds.
Zinc phosphate coating forms a porous, crystalline conversion layer on the metal surface. This layer holds the drawing soap and creates the carrier surface it needs; by preventing metal-to-die contact during drawing and cold forming, it reduces friction, wear and die-life loss.
The typical range for zinc phosphate coatings is 3–15 g/m². The right value depends on the material, the reduction ratio and the next forming step: heavy deformation calls for the upper band, while light drawing and jobs where surface appearance is critical use the lower band.
KİMSOL zinc phosphate coating is suitable for carbon steel and low-alloy steel. The surface must be free of scale, rust and oil, which is why degreasing and rinsing steps are essential before phosphating.
The KİMSOL series is zinc phosphate based. It is the type used in wire/tube drawing, cold forging and paint pretreatment, with a crystal structure suited to soap pickup and forming. Zinc phosphate is the preferred type for cold forming lines.
